WELCOME!
Welcome to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Public Schools, Morristown Building! Our building is located in Morristown, Minnesota and serves students in grades 5-8. We are unique in that the fifth and sixth grades are elementary classrooms, and comprise Morristown Elementary School. The seventh and eighth grades are a Junior High and comprise W-E-M Junior High School. To create unity within the building, and simplify who we are, we refer to ourselves as the W-E-M 5-8 building.

Middle School Counselor
The goal of WEM’s School Counseling Program is to meet the needs of all students, personally and academically, in an empathetic, proactive, accessible, and professional manner. We believe that a comprehensive counseling and guidance program is an essential part of education for all students, at all levels. These programs facilitate student development in educational, career, and social/personal domains. Our program helps promote responsible, productive citizenship and lifelong learning. They assist students to develop realistic educational, life, and career plans based on a clear understanding of themselves, their needs, interests, and skills.
Hi! My name is Michelle Roethler, and I am WEM’s 5-8 school counselor. I graduated from Northfield High School and then completed my Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College in Michigan in 1993. Two years later, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling from the University of Minnesota-St. Mary’s and completed my School Counseling and Personnel license through the University of Minnesota-Mankato. I have been working at WEM as a Licensed School Counselor since 1998. My husband, three kids, and I live near the Big Woods State Park in Nerstrand.
